Glasson Golf Club is located in the centre of Ireland in County Westmeath, in a delightful countryside location, on the banks of Lough Ree.

This mature parkland course opened in 1993, it was designed by Christy O’Connor Jnr. This 18 hole course is a par 73 and measures an impressive 7,119 yards from the back tees. The course enjoys an excellent design and fully utilises its surroundings, making the most out of the magnificent panorama, in this charming location.

It is

  • an undulating course
  • that meanders through the surrounding trees,
  • it has a a number of dog-legs
  • as well as elevated tees,
  • the result is a course that is interesting and unique.

The first nine holes overlook Lough Ree and the back nine Killenure Bay, it is possibly the only course where water is visible from every hole. The course is uncomplicated and the drives are pretty straightforward, the biggest challenges are the lengths. There are a number of testing but enjoyable holes, none of them are weak, the par fives are particularly noteworthy. The land slopes quite dramatically in areas.

The course is well maintained. The fairways are quite narrow but true and relatively fast, the greens are immaculate and the rough surrounding the fairways is treacherous so keep in the grass. Bunkers are carefully placed and the water hazards are always prominent. This course is difficult but fair, those who play well will be rewarded. It offers challenges to all level of golfer.

What you get here is fantastic golf, in a stunning location and a very friendly welcome.
