Galgorm Castle Golf Club is a magnificent parkland course in the centre of beautiful Antrim, on a well-preserved historic estate dating back to 1618. Set within 220 acres of beautiful mature parkland, this 18 hole course is a par 72 and lies over 6,930 yards. It is a modern course only opening in 1997.The course is well laid out, making full use of the natural features, with the fairways winding through the old estate, the castle sits proudly on the 10th hole, it is a mix of old and new that blend together seamlessly, the result is a modern and interesting parkland design. It comprises of a nice variety of holes, all of them offsetting the stunning landscape, some are rewarding. There are a number of water hazards, in the form of five lakes and two rivers, the Maine and Braid. These water features are somewhat punishing on certain holes.The course is in excellent condition, the undulating greens are sand based and pristine, they run fast and true, the manicured fairways are narrow and tree lined, bunkers are well placed, the rough is treacherous. The course is pretty flat so easy to get around. Beware of some of the short holes they can be tricky.Galgorm Castle is one of the finest parkland courses in Northern Ireland, it provides a challenging and rewarding game of golf in an idyllic landscape.A visit to Galgorm Castle is guaranteed to provide a memorable game of golf in spectacular settings.
